I must say at this point, as is the case with us all, I am still trying to figure myself out. I don't really have an exact plan as to how I'm going to develop my empire of words, but I do know that I intend to share as much of my consciousness as possible.
Knowing you can do something is important. However, knowing how you will do a given thing is even more important. Once armed with the knowhow, the road ahead is cleared of confusion, allowing action to take hold.
The path that I have set myself on requires a lifetimes’ commitment to the cause. In return I will be forced to develop and explore my mind, so that from time to time I may have something worthy to say. Hopefully beneficial to others, certainly so for myself.
The important thing to remember here is that we are all working for ourselves, so to speak. As in we do whatever we tell ourselves to do. Well, if you do sign up to that way of thinking, then the more you obey your own command, the more you will then in turn demand smarter and smarter behaviour from yourself. As long as you take charge it no longer matters who’s in charge.
Believe without asking why,
And you’ll become the free spirit,
Thats been hard to find,
Defined by fleeting times,
A repeating crime,
Along the paths of life,
After darker times,
The masters of the past,
Ignore the scars and strife,
To make sure their hearts are light,
From the harshest disasters,
To the afterlife,
All paths will quite likely,
Make you laugh and cry,
The smart recharge their mind with Zen,
As they try and try again,
To pretend to die,
In this life without end...

When you reflect on how far you’ve come over the years, you should remember also who you wanted to become. As we grow into adulthood, it is the nature and substance of our dreams that plays the biggest role in guiding our fate.
Our deepest hopes and expectations liberate us as we channel our energies into cultivating the experiences and outcomes we’ve truly set our hearts on. The fact that positivity breeds positivity while negativity clearly does the opposite is common knowledge. Yet many of us behave as though this is simply not the case.
It is the nature of one’s soul or life force that will dictate the extent to which an individual can manifest their deepest intentions. Without the light of a bright future the here and now can be adversely effected, leaving us unfulfilled and consumed by regret, well before our race is run.
As children the slate was clean, near enough every dream was still on the table. I believe channeling into that hope and expectation is the key to a happy and fulfilled life. And since it’s never over till it’s over, it’s also never too late to redirect your fate with brand new dreams.
Every which way we seek our dreams,
The road to peacefully serene scenes,
Are paved with old souls,
Chasing the breeze,
Either embracing disease,
Or just taking it easy,
You see, the real get on with it,
Guided by a light that astonishes,
As long as they don’t hurry it,
It flourishes from the nourishment,
Otherwise they do not thrive,
Ostracised then tossed aside,
To rot on the compost pile,
Couldn’t be bothered to be on it,
To be honest they forgot to try,
Too busy being undermined,
By the hostile minds,
That foster the constant lies,
Want some advice?
Don’t get compromised,
Keep your mind on the prize,
Then even if the scene dies,
The dream will still breathe life,
Into the dreamers mind,
Until the healing bites,
Like a seamless rhyme,
The lines just seem to bind at the seams,
No need to sigh,
Don’t worry, we’ll be just fine...

This is what we say when we need to reassure and encourage others as well as ourselves. There is no doubt that it is amongst the best advice we ever give each other. However, at face value it can sound a lot like doing nothing. Don’t be fooled, sometimes nothing is the precise thing we need to be doing.
When you think about it there is no smarter way to proceed in life than to take the path of least resistance. From the very start of our lives we have no choice but to flow forward, propelled by the arrow of time as we hurtle towards the future on our journey through life.
This endless forward flux is the natural state of the universe. Knowing this in your bones can take the pressure off assuming that you need to be someone or be somewhere at any given time, not realising that we are always progressing.
Unfortunately, it is commonplace for many of us to feel like we need to be doing something in life right now, feeling the pressure to be making the right decisions at the ‘right time’. Fret not and let go, your life-force hasn’t made a mistake yet, so you can be sure when the time is right that your organism will know what to do.
Life at times is quite insane,
Just trying to find a way to like the pain,
It’s like a game we play to death,
As we seek to hide the stress,
Inside the quests that keep us sane,
It’s in this way we tame the mind,
A brain comprised of ancient eyes,
Who’s insights ignite the change inside,
Just in time to guide us,
Before the faith subsides,
So we can aim the light,
Back at the sacred skies,
That gave us life,
And say goodnight...

There is an equilibrium to be struck with all that we do and intriguingly enough, depending on the situation, having, taking or doing less can in fact be worth more than more itself.
Food is an obvious example where logic and self control fail to meet in the middle. Making the right choice at the right time requires a subconscious understanding of the bigger picture. Thinking in this way enables us to take things in our stride, an approach known as the path of least resistance.
By understanding this fundamental connection between our actions and the paths they put us on we can in turn make better decisions. When we are more harmoniously in tune with our surroundings we react and behave accordingly.
This is achieved when we don’t impose our selves on the world around us and simply go with the flow. Counter intuitive as it may seem, taking the ‘easy does it’ approach over a lifetime can ultimately end up being far more rewarding than grinding the gears as we try to move the various mountain sized problems we face throughout life. In this way the ‘less is more’ approach can result in the lasting change over the deep time that we truly wish for ourselves.
Every noise suggests,
The choice is yes,
But my polluted emotions,
Are fuelling confusion and loathing,
Making correct computing an illusive,
And gruelling selection process,
It’s like I’ve yet to notice,
The rule is,
A legend never muses over irrelevance,
Just the betterment of ones essence,
You can’t say fairer than that Jack,
In fact just saying yes,
Is more or less where it’s at chaps...

Who do you identify with? The person that you think you are or the organism that experiences thoughts with you watching. In truth we are both and much more, unfortunately many of us get distracted by the constant stream of thoughts that we unwittingly perceive as the self. We are far and a way more than the sum of our parts, the question is then, why identify with only one part of the total magnificence we represent.
I believe in the power of my mind, which in turn means I believe in the power of your mind. We all grew up knowing that we could achieve anything we put our minds to, it has always been a matter of the will to do so. This willingness of which I speak can be an illusive character because we are so multi-willed, pushing and pulling in all directions throughout our lives.
Recognising that we are not just the thinker, we are also the doer and undoer all at once liberates the mind self from its own grip. Every aspect of our being is part of a grander happening. Knowing this allows us to let go and stop trying to control proceedings. Our influence becomes more subtle as we steer our multi-sensory vessel by sailing along with the winds of change instead of wondering when we might finally get on board.
When you try to find your self,
You lose yourself,
But as soon as you refuse,
To try and lose the self,
The mind will help,
You use this world,
As in the you that's world,
Gets to view itself,
Through you the world,
Who knew,
This selfish truth,
Was not infused,
With "who's the self?",
But instead enthused,
By the view that self is truth,
And thus be true to self...

So whether you only care about yourself or you deeply care about others the advice is the same, take care of number one. Invest in yourself and the wealth will follow, the more you have the more you can give, it is as simple as that, well sort of.
If you don’t like the outlook going forward, then it is clearly time to change the atmosphere in your consciousness. Once you address the issues and create better weather for yourself, you will be able to comfortably anticipate that your future is going to plan. You will then naturally feel really good about yourself for managing your universe so well.
This serene and well deserved state of mind should motivate you as much as any material wealth might do. Ultimately such moments in time are priceless so make sure to enjoy them while they last. I say enjoy, because after all this life is not as serious as many would have you believe. Predominantly playful by its nature, the universe is reaching out and encouraging us to play along, I find the best way of joining in is to make work seem like play too.
This life is amazing kids,
Since it’s the greatest gift you can get,
And yet life is what you make of it,
Don’t get phased by regret,
Each day unlocks the best,
And worst of life’s tests,
At times you might find it stressing,
But don’t be meek,
And seek nice pleasures,
For to find true peace,
Is to learn life’s lessons...

As you may have heard before, if you fail to plan then you plan to fail. This is not just a clever play on words but the fundamental ingredient to all forms of success. Confident and progressive action can only be taken once the road ahead is clear of doubt and uncertainty. Whether conscious or unconsciously so, all intentions are premeditated by a vision, similar to the difference between awareness and just knowing.
I am in my 4th year of my 10 year life plan. Each year I have built on the success of the last. Now my continued progression feels as natural as waking up in the morning. It certainly wasn’t always like this for me. For years all I had was my dreams without the conviction to act on them. I had to reprogram myself and began doing so just a few months before my 30th birthday.
Who am I, what do I know? Well all I know is that I am an organism of immense potential, and with the right attitude and necessary influences from my environment, exponential growth is a natural consequence of dedicating myself to all that life has to offer.
My mission will never be over, what possibly would the fun be in that. That is why I don’t stress about failing to do everything on my lists, I just cut and paste them into the following years plan, leaving a trail of achievement in my wake. Now trying new things and beating personal bests has become a way of life. The bigger picture of my life’s trajectory keeps my mind at ease, especially when life doesn’t quite go to plan.
Once upon a time,
My mind was not as fine,
It’s like I wasted so much time,
Just waiting to decide,
When was I gonna make it to the sky,
I was like; “Stop hating guy,
You’ve got at least until your 85...”
What a blatant lie,
I had a hollow spine,
And that’s even though I did not ascribe,
To the dollar signs,
Even so, all I needed was some time,
To fine tune my mind,
As I fought through the grime,
To find the truth inside,
The foolish pride,
That likes to brutalise the eyes,
Of wisemen and unwise men alike,
Then one night in,
I was enlightened,
My mind was just the right blend,
Of frightened and psyched in,
All right then!
Let’s find this light,
And fight this fight,
With the might of a lightning strike...

If you have any intention on maximising your potential then this perspective is for you. To begin with you need to believe in your inherent value, by this I mean not just the value you currently represent, the person you are now but also the sum total of your life's worth, which includes the person you have yet to become.
This might require a leap of faith for some. Fear not, be bold and ask yourself, what do you really want out of life? One doesn't have to be too exact here of course, all you need is an honest estimate of where you would like to be in the future, measured by any and all parameters that are important to you. Now all that is missing is for you to believe that it's you that's going to make it happen.
Feel free to be greedy and dream the most incredible outcome for yourself. Use your mind to create the perfect hypothetical fairytale ending for yourself. Once your vision is clear it will be possible to reverse engineer the steps needed to make it happen.
Now, all I am asking of yourself and the deal you draw up with yourself is that you agree what it is that is necessary and commit to the process with you heart, with your mind and with your spirit. Admittedly the deal is totally worthless if you are in any way fooling yourself.
It is your mindset that will ultimately determine your fate. Once you do believe that you can in fact manifest the ultimate outcome for yourself, you can at that point take a mortgage out on it and reap the rewards of all your hard work, even before you've lifted a finger.
The future is here,
The future is there,
The future is everywhere,
If only we were aware,
If only we knew,
That we need never fret with regret,
Or ever let the fear ensue,
As it consumes our when, where and who,
For every year that we do,
Is just another year in the rear view,
Yes, you can shed a tear or two,
But then we're meant to be cheerful,
For this life is a miracle,
When you let the light infuse,
In through every little ventricle,
It's essential to be spiritual,
Because when we do,
We find just like me and you,
The truth is split in two,
It both is and is not a vehicle,
So be sure to be cool,
Which means,
Not to seek all,
Like a weak fool,
And yes people,
This speech is to me too...

From time to time we all have that imaginary conversation with our younger selves, wishing we could have behaved differently or made the right choice at the right time. On reflection we wonder why we didn't have the foresight to act with the wisdom we have now.
Some say hindsight is a wonderful thing, well, I'd say it's not much use unless it leads to insight. Insight, by contrast is incredibly useful, since it can be used to influence the future, a future we care about deeply, otherwise why would so many of us routinely look back in anguish.
I believe such feelings of disappointment are completely avoidable. Certainly from the stand point of regretting ones own actions at least, or even inaction for that matter. I suggest being mindful that this very minute is connected to all future moments in time. This may seem daunting at first, however I would urge anyone that feels stress by the road they are traveling, that every second that passes is another opportunity to rewrite the history you have always looked forward to.

BLASTING TIME
I've got one of the maddest minds,
And forget the fact that it rhymes,
I've mastered the art,
Of blasting lines,
Time after time,
Into the rasclart minds,
Of the heartless blind,
Passers by,
Bloody bastards asking why,
They can't survive,
It's cos your last in line,
To learn from "Father Time",
Or find a path,
To the truth that will last this time,
Mind you the youth hardly try,
Unless it's party time,
Blind fools that do less and less,
As time passes by...
Sounds great in theory but at times finding the wherewithal to overcome all the nasty stress and madness the world has to throw at you can be tremendously difficult to achieve. Now, don't let that get you down, the reality is life can be unpleasant at times, the trick is to anticipate the road ahead. In some cases this can lead to cynicism, quite the opposite of what is required, instead the mindset needed is one of acceptance...
This is where positive intent come in to save the day, because in order to take the rough with the smooth, you have to be open to both happening. This in turn will lead a seasoned soul to surf the wave of life's oscillating vibrations without fearing the worst. It is no surprise to the surfer when the wave comes crashing down, instead of sulking they just get right back up and on the next opportunity to enjoy the crest all over again...

PROLIFIC OPTIMISM
To be terrific,
You need to be prolific,
The trick is to risk it,
And be optimistic,
That you can fix it,
No matter the twisted situation,
You find your mind frame in,
I'm saying that trying to remain sane,
Is the main thing,
Because arranging the pain,
In a way that maintains this aim,
Is amazing...
Many people ask me, "Well Jack, what's the secret?" as if there's one true enlightenment that's going to solve all our problems or enable us to achieve our dreams. I tell them that the secret is in fact not a secret, since the truth or truths in question are hiding in plain sight.
If we think about it, we already know many if not all the steps that we need or want to take in our lives. The hard part seems to be joining the dots. I suggest the difficulty is all in the mind since joining the dots is literally child's play.
It is often said that if you fail to plan then you plan to fail. This statement underpins all my plans, wishes and desires going forward in life. It must be said before proceeding, that I don't expect to complete all that I set my mind to, since I am not immortal. I accept too that unforeseen and random events will naturally alter the course of my history. I simply believe this is the only way to approach the infinitely varied and at times overwhelming possibilities that lay ahead.
My advice is don't sweat it, take it all with a pinch of salt while maintaining a huge appetite. I feel like life is about finding the balance between the things you want to do and the things you don't. Its in your interest to do some of both but at the same time it's equally necessary not to do too much of either.

CHILDS PLAY
Sometimes the right way,
Is to let time take,
It's natural course,
Of course it's child's play,
To sit back and watch,
But only if you stand for more,
And make life great,
Can your mind absorb,
The patterns or,
The light sprayed,
From the lanterns,
To the nightscapes,
So why not try and walk,
The right way,
For your time is short,
And why of course make noises
When every life shapes,
A very nice place,
That hides grace,
Inside life's great choices...
